As our first software engineer, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our team. This role reports to the founders and CTO.
In this role you will…
Garage is a marketplace that allows fire departments to list and purchase anything ranging from helmets to fire trucks. We handle payments, freight, financing, and more so that firefighters can focus on what they do best.
Our team has worked at leading companies (Twitter, Goldman Sachs, PayPal, Honey, Mem AI) and gone through Y Combinator.

In this role you will…
- Scale a two-sided marketplace
- Talk to users directly and have the autonomy to make the product better
- Own and ship features from start to finish
- Improve performance and reliability across the entire stack
- Work directly with the founders and users to define our product and engineering roadmap
- Love to build
- Have strong experience in full stack development
- Can work in our NYC office (in-person 4 days per week)
- Are an outcomes driven self-starter and biased to action
- Have experience with TypeScript and Postgres
